Refund policy
We want you to be happy with your purchase. If something’s not quite right or you’ve changed your mind, don’t worry – just get in touch and we’ll help sort it out.
What can’t be returned?
- Our UK Made-to-Order hat bases, which are made in your chosen colour and only once ordered.
- Special orders – that includes anything we’ve sourced especially for you, like a product in a different colour or size, something we don’t usually stock, or a larger quantity than we typically keep on hand.
Because these items are made or sourced specifically for you, they can’t be returned.
Unless stated otherwise, sale or clearance items are also non-returnable.
Changed your mind?
If you’d like to return something, just email us at sales@thetrimmingcompany.com within 14 days of receiving your order with the details. Once we’ve confirmed the return, you’ll have another 14 days to send the item(s) back.
Problem with your order?
If something’s gone wrong – it’s damaged, faulty, or not what you ordered – please email us within 7 days of receiving it. We'll sort things quickly and send you a pre-paid return label.
How to return something
- Email sales@thetrimmingcompany.com with your order number and what you’d like to return.
- Once we’ve confirmed the return, you can send it to the following address:

If the item isn’t faulty or incorrect, you’ll need to arrange and cover the cost of the return postage.
Items must be unused, in their original condition, and packaged securely to avoid damage in transit.
Don’t forget to include your order number or packing slip so we know who it’s from.
Free shipping & returns
If you received Free UK Shipping because your order was over £60, and your total (after any returns are deducted) falls below £60, we’ll deduct the standard shipping charge for the service used from your refund.
Packing returns safely
Please make sure your return is packaged securely – especially for delicate items like hat bases.
If something arrives back crushed or damaged due to poor packaging, we may have to reduce your refund or decline it altogether.
Returning from outside the UK?
No problem! Just make sure to clearly mark your parcel as “Returned Goods” to avoid delays or import charges.
Refunds
We’ll process your refund to your original payment method within 3 working days of receiving your return.
